If you’re looking for home-based or virtual work, you’ve come to the right place!
As a work at home mom of many years, I’m passionate about helping people find telecommuting work they can do at home.
There are a number of reasons to work at home.
- No jobs in the area
- needing to be at home with small children
- needing to be at home to take care of elderly parents or disabled people in your life
- you might be disabled, again unable to find work
- personal freedom
- tax advantages
- reduce stress and
- you might be able to do things you never thought you’d be able to do
I’m also fascinated by the internet and its growth, how electronic media is shaping our world. It’s exciting to me to see businesses flourishing online and watch the different ways people talk to each other.
On this blog I share job leads/listings, how I get those listings so you can do the same, how and why I market the way I do. I’m active on a number of social media sites including the “big three”, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn and training to be able to work in this field. I keep my finger on the pulse of much of the home-based world to see what new jobs are out there, what fields are growing, what tools are available to me and possibly others. Through my blog I’ll often share what I’m currently doing for work. If it works for me, it might work for somebody else too. Most work at home or telecommuting people need to have more than one “egg in our basket” because just as businesses, work can come and go in the outside-the-home or “brick and mortar” jobs, the same happens online. Businesses can fold for all kinds of reasons.
Something you need to keep in mind as you’re searching for work. Jobs may seem to have much lower pay than something outside the home. Keep in mind taxes aren’t being taken out. These are often what are called 1099 jobs or independent contractor positions, you need to keep track of your own taxes which is actually SO much easier to do than what many people think! You’ll also see exactly what you’re paying in taxes and what is waste which can be a real eye opener to many!
